Bacteria are the primary reasons cut flowers wilt prematurely. To keep your flowers fresh and prevent bacterial growth that blocks water absorption, the frequency for changing the water depends on both the specific flower type and the ambient temperature of your room.

Daily maintenance for some of our more popular cut flowers like: Roses, Tulips, Peonies, Sunflowers, Delphiniums, Amaranthus, it is best to change the water every day in warm weather and every two days in colder weather.

Some hardier cut flowers can often last a bit longer between water changes, typically every 2 to 3 days, though fresh water always benefits them. Fore example,

Protea: These are very hardy and long-lasting, but they are heavy drinkers, so keep an eye on the water level.

Mums (Chrysanthemums): Known for their exceptional vase life, they still require clean water to prevent the stems from becoming slimy.

Pro-Tips for Longevity

Clean the Vase: When you change the water, take a moment to rinse the vase to remove any biofilm or bacteria that has attached to the sides.

Recut the Stems: Every time you change the water, trim about 1 cm (0.5 inch) off the stems at a 45-degree angle. This opens up "fresh" straw-like vessels to pull in hydration.

Remove Low Foliage: Ensure there are no leaves submerged in the water, as these decay quickly and accelerate bacterial growth.

After noon, we'll schedule the delivery for the next available day - you can choose the date at checkout, or book up to several weeks in advance for birthdays, anniversaries, or planned events.
