Description: Delphinium flowers are expressive, tall, triumphant, showy, and noble. Their colours range from white to pink, purple, and blue. They feature spikes 8 to 20 inches long, consisting of individual florets that are 1 to 2 inches in diameter. These spikes are born on stems with medium green leafy foliage, and multiple flowers occur in a spike.
Named after: Delphinium gets its name from the Greek word delphis, meaning “dolphin”. The name is derived from the resemblance of the flower's petals to the fins and nose of the graceful marine mammal.
