Most clematis develop large single flowers, while some varieties showcase double or bell-shaped blossoms. They are vine-resistant perennials belonging to the Ranunculaceae family.

Named after: The genus name Clematis comes from the Ancient Greek word meaning "a climbing plant."

Latin/Scientific name: Clematis L.
